Space Shuttle Atlantis at Offutt AFB

The Space Shuttle Atlantis was diverted to Offutt AFB on Sunday July 1, 2007 due to bad weather in Florida. The Shuttle spent the night at Offutt prior to departing Monday morning. This is the second shuttle to visit Offutt AFB...the 1st was in April 1985 (we were at Offutt then too) but that was just a quick refueling stop. We were able to run out to the base Sunday night and again Monday morning just prior to departure.

When last we saw Shuttle Atlantis she was...where???
She was docked to the International Space Station 265 miles overhead...then she comes to Omaha!

Greg, Alycia and Family at the Shuttle just prior to it's departure Monday Morning

We were able to bring the Burton Family out to Offutt to see the shuttle!
